Week three of the Spring Semester

It's the end of week three of the Spring semester. Only seven more weeks to go and one school year will be behind me. It amazes me how quickly it has gone. Yet I am struck by how much I have learned (and how much more I have left to learn.) Last week just about did me in. I had two sermons, a 200 pg. book with 5 page review and the regular reading to do. I spent nearly every night on campus. This week will be about the same. I'm still tired (and should be taking a nap to compensate.) Regardless, I see the light at the end of the tunnel so-to-speak and am pushing forward. Classes are actually quite engaging this semester. I expected greater resistance in the missions class but so far, the professor has ridden the fence well, not playing a favorite. Theologia:Baptism is a well designed class, focusing on Baptism (obviously) in Scripture, practice, thematically and such. The seminary has done well to provide this foundational Sacrament education (which was lacking in the old curriculum.) Much emphasis is put on practice and symbolism which will help us educate when in the parish. We finally have recovered from most of our ailments. We've still got the obligatory colds but all-in-all are well. We look forward to the warmer weather so the kids can get out of the house more. Cabin fever makes life challenging for all especially mom! I've decided my brain needs a bit of rest this summer. I am currently thinking of only taking Hebrew and Latin and not the two history courses. Just like with Greek, I believe the focus will help both languages and give me an opportunity for family and church involvement. Latin is not required but helpful. Plus I can teach it to the kids (Anne took it in college as well.) So as to not disappoint, the new Mac laptop is treating me nicely. The campus is abuzz with news of its arrival. All of a sudden, closet Mac fans are coming out to adore its presence. I've got it pretty well loaded up with the necessary applications including the recording stuff. Speaking of recording, I am recording a Vespers performance this coming weekend on campus. I am able to record this with nearly the ideal microphone placement. I expect great results which might help the side project out a bit. This would be great for some primary income, perhaps over the summer and into the fall. We'll see! As promised, I must now take a nap.

Very interesting schedule. We hope you were able to bet your nap to be able to keep up with your young family.
