Le Mans Day 5
Today was a much more leisurely. I woke up at 9:15 a.m. with a splitting headache. The perfect storm arrived... rainy weather, too much wine, and far too much cheese. No one was awake so I took my advil/aspirin concoction, watched a slide show of some pictures, made some strong coffee, and then wrote yesterday’s blog post. I was greeted at 10 a.m. Madame/Monsieur Floss going for brunch fixings. Not until 10:30 a.m. did I see anyone else of consequence. The French folk got up before any Americans. They stayed up later than any Americans. What does this mean? After brunch, we did some cleaning, dishes, and figured out our day. We left for the enclosed mall to avoid the rain and do some shopping. We found my gift of espresso mugs, saucers, and spoons at a nice French dish store. Mom bought me my birthday present of a stovetop espresso maker. Terrific! We bought 5 kilos of chocolate. Those who helped watch the kids and such will have chocolate on their way. It’s good. French chocolate is good. Trust me. We came back for a three course dinner, polishing off some of the wine. After that we planned tomorrows D-Day invasion. Some played cards, I played with the computer, and now time for bed. Voila!
