Another Lenten fast?
I know you folks are all fasting and have given up something for Lent. I hope it hasn't been your devotional life. Take six or so minutes out of your schedule for a well-written Lenten devotion produced by yours truly for the Admissions department at the Seminary. If you don't listen, you'll miss your opportunity to hear this seminarian become world famous! In case you missed the previous blog post about it, here it is again: Lenten Devotions Available on CTS Website Listen on the website Subscribe in iTunes (this one is my favorite.... downloads automatically into your iTunes podcast directory... great for getting it to the iPod for the drive to work!) FORT WAYNE, Ind. (CTS)-Lent is a season of penitence and preparation. In conjunction with this season of the church year, the Admission Office of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind., is making daily Lenten devotions available on the seminary website. Simply go to www.ctsfw.edu and select Lenten Devotions. The devotions will be available Ash Wednesday, February 21, through Easter Sunday, April 8. Each brief reflection includes a Bible verse appropriate for the day, a 3-4 minute devotional thought, and a prayer. Authors include CTS faculty, ordained staff, and students. "In the weeks leading to our annual commemoration of the Lord's crucifixion and resurrection, it is good to discipline ourselves and find nourishment in the Word of God. For the Easter joy set before us, we gladly endure our lifetime Lenten pilgrimage, each day shaped by penitence and faith," offered the Rev. Scott E. Stiegemeyer, CTS Director of Admission. "You are invited to return to this site each day until the great Feast of the Resurrection for a new devotion." As another addition to your Lenten preparation you may also listen to the daily worship service from Kramer Chapel. The morning service is available each day and may be accessed by going to www.ctsfw.edu , selecting Chapel, and then selecting Recorded Chapel Services. These recordings are available every day that the seminary is in session.
