News Update
Folks, The blog posting has necessarily slowed in the last week and will probably remain so through the duration of the semester. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I sit through six hours of class. I've been working extra to cover this classwork. I have a video production the first weekend in May on campus. We leave for Novosibersk the second week of May. Plus... somewhere in there the necessary coursework needs to get done. To complicate matters, we're trying to go through our junk collection for sale-able items for the church rummage sale or eBay. What is left is either packed as essential or junked as refuse. Speaking of eBay, I have been doing real well on getting rid of stuff of any value. I made $300 on unopened blank cassette tapes (go figure!) so this morning I went with the found money and did something I've neglected. I bought a black suit, the uniform. Not only do I now have a black one... it is fitted unlike the co-op specials. (Perhaps I should have them tailored?) I've lost enough weight that my sizing is down a notch. Maybe the suit will be the incentive to keep it off? So now, at least on occasion, I will be able to look like my clothes were meant for me. Anne is working hard to pack stuff. On top of that she has now her third client for her custom cloth diapering system. Oh, I should not forget that her second Doula client is due any day. Thankfully the weather has turned nicer so she can get some of this done while the kids and dog play outside. Novosibersk is still on schedule. The tickets are in hand, the VISAs are pending in Russia, and I'm enrolled in the class. I sold one of my camera lenses and am picking up a used "walkabout lens" to avoid the dust debacle of France. So you can look forward to some good pictures and perhaps a journal entry here or there. Internet access is still up in the air. The eBay and other forum sales are helping pay off the tickets. Hopefully by the time we leave, we'll be all square for vicarage. Vicarage expenses are paid with a stipend, leaving us only responsible to cover the debt payments. We have the house rented to a fourth year student so the mortgage and utilities are covered. So the finances will be tight but they look doable. Ask me again after Monday's vicarage service. I can't think of much else, so I best be off to pay my overdue fees at the library or they won't give me the packet monday night. :)
