Alan Keyes for President

Media_httpdizzysoundn_hrsqj
I'm sick and tired of the "I don't want to vote for someone who has no chance of winning" argument with American politics. You and I know that there is little to support with either established political party. Why we have persisted with the two we have is beyond me, especially with such widespread discontent. We have a major, devisive issue in the killing of infants in the womb, that should be receiving the attention like slavery did, giving birth to a new party. There are alternate parties like the Constitution party which could garner your vote. You could tolerate a moderate to conservative candidate (the "lesser of evils") from either mainstream party. Or instead you could put your full voting weight behind a candidate that truly represents your views or beliefs. You may not see response immediately but change does not come from supporting the status quo. Rant off. Because the 2008 election is one of the most important in our nation's history, we can't afford to let the elites who control the political process dictate our choices for president. Instead, grassroots Americans need to step forward and support a true conservative leader who represents the values and priorities most Americans share. We need a proven statesman, constitutional authority, and national moral leader to lead and unify our country in these difficult times! We need ALAN KEYES! I encourage you to SIGN THE PETITION drafting Alan Keyes for president -- and to FIND FIVE OTHERS who will do the same: http://www.alankeyes.com/petition.php Please also consider making a contribution to this effort: http://www.alankeyes.com/donate.php I'd also like to invite you to join the Keyes Team and get involved in the movement to elect this superbly-qualified, courageous advocate of moral principle: http://www.alankeyes.com/join.php You can view streaming videos of Dr. Keyes at www.alankeyes.com -- to see, firsthand, Alan's inspiring speeches and interviews, and to learn more about his moral-based positions. Alan Keyes -- who served as Ronald Reagan's Assistant Secretary of State for International Organizations, and who wrote his Harvard dissertation on the Constitution -- is unparalleled among the current or likely candidates for president. Please support this outstanding statesman.

I agree that Alan Keyes would make a great president. He is very outspoken on what he believes and will take a stand, which is something most politicians will not do. Now, if Mr. Keyes decides not to run, what are your thoughts on Mr. Fred Thompson?

I like his website. :) I suppose he's a decent candidate. Limited Federal government has my interest. He's wrong about uniting around government, that's a fallacy. We unite around a real battle and that's common decent morality, not Iraq, oil, or rampant government. He certainly has some momentum... but he so far is unwilling to say anything like this:

Petition in support of Alan Keyes for President

Whereas, the 2008 presidential election is one of the most important in our nation's history — due to a combination of critical realities that threaten our country's security, sovereignty, moral strength, economic stability, and constitution-based liberty;

Whereas, in the 2004 and 2006 elections, moral conservatives showed that they place utmost priority on pro-life and pro-family issues, and served notice that they will no longer be taken for granted as supporting candidates who are weak on these and other critical values that are at the heart of moral conservatism;

Whereas, moral conservative voters are wondering whether they will have a voice in the upcoming presidential election — for lack of a strong, proven leader with a track record of publicly defending and advocating their most basic values, priorities, and concerns;

Whereas, given today's very real "constitutional crisis" — in which lawless judges continue to legislate and dictate, and Congress and the president continue to abdicate and capitulate — we need a president who thoroughly understands the Constitution and is committed to faithfully applying it (in the context of the God-centered principles in the Declaration of Independence that the Constitution is meant to uphold);

Whereas, in view of profound national security and foreign policy issues that currently face our nation, we need a president who deeply understands these issues, firsthand — and who will not merely rely on elite "experts" to guide our national security and foreign policy in these perilous times;

Whereas, as our nation's "ambassador" to the entire world, the President of the United States should be an example of bedrock American values — including devotion to God, respect for the value of human life, commitment to the traditional family, record of personal marital fidelity, independent-minded courage and common sense, and statesman-like adherence to moral principle;

Whereas, in these troubling and challenging times, we also need a president who meets the following SPECIFIC CRITERIA, if our country is to reverse years of destructive trends and survive in liberty: Our next president must —

Understand that our country's most urgent problems are ultimately moral — not material — and that unless we as a nation address our moral challenges first and foremost, no physical or economic might will save us.

Recognize that our country's most critical moral need is to qualify for God's providence and intervention, without which we will be destroyed both from without and from within.

Appreciate that the single most immoral and catastrophic policy in our nation is tax-funded, legalized abortion — a policy that utterly disqualifies us from God's protection as a people.

Acknowledge that to merit God's blessings, we must also — as a nation — allow and encourage public forms of religious expression, as protected by our Constitution, and not limit religious expression merely to private or personal devotion on an unconstitutional pretext of "separation of church and state."

Defend God-ordained marriage against encroachment by the gay agenda — taking active measures to stem such encroachment and refusing to capitulate to pressure to do otherwise.

Reject all forms of globalism, including its economic beginnings in the form of NAFTA, CAFTA, and the World Trade Organization — all of which threaten our nation's sovereignty, security, and financial stability and sacrifice the best interests of the American people for the benefit of powerful national and international corporations.

Reject all forms of socialism, or any other scheme or policy that requires Americans to subordinate their individual God-given rights to the collective will of society, except as necessary to ensure that all have equal right and opportunity within a framework of constitutional law.

Reject the whole notion of a federal income tax and the very real "tax slavery" it imposes on all Americans — including a so-called "flat tax," which merely perpetuates an inherently oppressive tax system.

Reject all proposals that amount to amnesty for illegal aliens, and focus American policy instead on securing our borders and enforcing existing immigration laws — a stance that is vital to countering terrorism and preserving the long-term moral, political, and economic strength of our nation.

Reject the idea that governmental education should be required of all of America's children without respect for the preferences of parents — and support measures that recognize parents' God-given rights and authority in the education of their children.

Reject the notion that citizens should be prevented from fully exercising their First Amendment rights in the political arena — or otherwise be stifled by such unconstitutional measures as the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform law.

Strongly support Second Amendment rights — not merely to permit the use of firearms for sport or self-defense, but to guarantee our rights as citizens, under the Constitution, to oppose tyranny.

Not only claim to support such "conservative" positions when asked or pressed, but actively and consistently push for such ideals, policies, and outcomes in American public life.

Whereas, in measuring all currently announced 2008 presidential candidates against the above standards, and finding none who sufficiently measures up — and finding none who appears capable of protecting our nation against all threats, moral and material, or of leading our nation to fundamental restoration of our diminished rights as citizens;

And whereas, former Assistant Secretary of State Alan Keyes is the one national conservative leader who best exemplifies what our country needs at this time in its president — due to his proven and extensive qualifications regarding every standard listed above;

THEREFORE, we hereby announce our support of ALAN KEYES FOR PRESIDENT and encourage him to run. Alan, we pledge to stand with you, and commit our means to help, if you decide to seek the presidency.

I've always thought that Keyes would have done better if, after 2000, he had stepped back, run for U.S. Representative somewhere, and actually gotten elected to office.

A Keyes fan in '00 and '04, I am most probably leaning towards Huckabee this time, even though his name sounds like it was the runner-up candidate for dopey sounding president's name in "Dr. Strangelove."

Huckabee was most will spoken at the recent "Value Voters Debate"... I was mighty impressed:
