Masters Thesis Ideas?

Theologians and all, I'm mulling over the class offerings for next year. Ideally, I should have at least a vague idea of my thesis. The thesis is typically in the same department of study as your major.  Here's my criteria for the thesis topic:

  1. It has to be something interesting and captivate my interests.
  2. It ought to be worth dedicating a years worth of study towards. In other words, the thesis is in service to the church.
  3. The thesis is narrow in scope to be a masters and not PhD project.
As it stands now, I am hoping to write on the topic traditionally called aesthetics. From wikipedia:
Aesthetics (also spelled æsthetics) is commonly known as the study of sensory or sensori-emotional values, sometimes called judgments of sentiment and taste.[1] More broadly, scholars in the field define aesthetics as "critical reflection on art, culture and nature."[2][3] Aesthetics is a subdiscipline of axiology, a branch of philosophy, and is closely associated with the philosophy of art.[4] Aesthetics studies new ways of seeing and of perceiving the world.[5]
It meets criteria #1 as it is a reflection on the arts and culture. In regards to #2, my goal would be to contribute a Lutheran perspective in the discussion of a Christian aesthetic for art (esp. music.) The service then is to help musicians and pastors present their desire for appropriate music or other arts in their congregation. Unfortunately, criteria #3 is a bit of a challenge. I would definitely need to narrow the focus to meet the suggested scope of 100 pages. Secondly, it is typically a philosophical realm, largely built on Greek study. I'm not interested in vague philosophies but concrete theology. If I were to narrow the focus, I would like to especially consider confessing what God gives and intends by our creativity. Or stated differently: what is responsible Christian creativity? The creation narrative might serve as a suitable starting point. What do you think? Those of you who know me, is this topic a worthwhile venture and suitable to my interests? The bigger issue, as I see it, is that the topic might be considered within the Systematic department, but could also be practical or exegetical. I'm more than open to other suggestions if you think there is the need for scholarship in a particular realm that you have encountered in your own church. Let me know ASAP. I'm hoping to register this week or next.

Since I love talking to myself, here is another:

What is the liturgy in CFW Walther's view?

I tried calling you but know that you are busy with papers, birthdays, and finals. We talked about what you should do for your thesis at Sunday School yesterday. We like "what is responsible Christian creativity? The creation narrative might serve as a suitable starting point." But, we are intrigued by CFW Walther's view on liturgy, also.
