My sister gave me flack for only linking up to theology and foodie posts. Here's a sports one. See? It can be done. Eric Bruntlett was on our State Championship baseball team. He sat next to me in Chemistry class when I blew shards of beaker everywhere. Now he joins a short list of major league players to complete an unassisted triple play, only the second game ending occurrence. Interestingly, the only such play in a World Series game was on Oct. 10, 1920 by Cleveland Indians second basemen Bill Wambsganss, the namesake of the Seminary gymnasium. In the fifth game of the World Series, Wambsganss caught Willie Mitchell's line drive, stepped on second to retire Pete Kilduff, and tagged Otto Miller, who was coming from first.
